Chapter 3

¹On these plates I’ll provide an account of my life, rule, and ministry. So, continuing on, I need to say something about my father’s and my brothers’ concerns.

فصل ۳

^۱بر این الواح شرحی از زندگی، حکومت و خدمت خود ارائه خواهم داد. پس، در ادامه، باید چیزی درباره نگرانی‌های پدرم و برادرانم بگویم.

²After my father had finished recounting his dream and urging them to diligence, he spoke to them about the Jews, ³that once they’re destroyed, along with that great city of Jerusalem, and after many have been carried away as prisoners into Babylon, then when the Lord decided the time was right, they were to return home, brought back out of slavery. After they’re freed from slavery to occupy their land again, ⁴600 years after my father left Jerusalem, the Lord God would raise up a prophet among the Jews, even the Messiah, that is, a Savior of the world. ⁵He also explained that many of the prophets testified about this Messiah, the Redeemer of the world, that he mentioned. ⁶Therefore all mankind was and always would be in a lost and fallen state unless they relied on this Redeemer.

⁷He also spoke about a prophet who was to come before the Messiah to prepare the way for the Lord, ⁸who would cry out in the wilderness: Prepare the way for the Lord and follow in His straight path. There’s one standing among you whom you don’t acknowledge, who’s far greater than I; whose sandal strap I’m not worthy to even touch. My father spoke at length about this. ⁹My father said that prophet would baptize in Bethabara on the other side of the Jordan River. He also said that he would baptize with water, including baptizing the Messiah with water, ¹⁰and after he baptized the Messiah with water, he would testify that he had baptized the Lamb of God, who would redeem all of creation from the Fall.

¹¹After my father said these things, he talked to my brothers about the gospel that would be preached among the Jews, and about the Jews falling away in unbelief. And after they kill the coming Messiah, following His death, He would rise from the dead and make Himself known to the Gentiles by the Holy Ghost. ¹²Understand, my father spoke extensively about the Gentiles and about the house of Israel, comparing them to an olive tree whose branches would be broken off and scattered throughout the earth. ¹³Therefore he said it was part of God’s plan for us to go to our promised land, to fulfill the Lord’s word that we would be scattered across the earth; ¹⁴and after the house of Israel has been scattered, they would be gathered back together; or in other words, in the end, after the Gentiles receive the fullness of the gospel, that the olive tree’s natural branches (meaning the remnants of the house of Israel), would be grafted in or learn to worship the true Messiah, their Lord and their Redeemer. ¹⁵My father prophesied and taught my brothers this. He said many more things that I’m not writing in this book since I’ve written about it in my other book. ¹⁶All of this happened as my father lived in a tent in the valley of Lemuel.

^۱۱پس از آنکه پدرم این چیزها را گفت، با برادرانم درباره انجیلی که در میان یهودیان موعظه خواهد شد و درباره فرو افتادن یهودیان در گمراهی سخن گفت. و پس از آنکه مسیح آینده را بکشند، در پی مرگ او، از مردگان برخواهد خاست و خود را به امّت‌ها توسط روح‌القدس خواهد شناساند. ^۱۲بدانید، پدرم به‌تفصیل درباره امّت‌ها و درباره خاندان اسرائیل سخن گفت، و آنان را به درخت زیتونی تشبیه کرد که شاخه‌هایش شکسته شوند و در سراسر زمین پراکنده گردند. ^۱۳از این رو گفت بخشی از نقشه خدا این بود که ما به سرزمین موعود خود برویم تا کلام خداوند را تحقق بخشیم، که ما در سراسر زمین پراکنده خواهیم شد؛ ^۱۴و پس از آنکه خاندان اسرائیل پراکنده شده باشد، دوباره گرد هم آورده خواهند شد؛ یا به عبارت دیگر، در نهایت، پس از آنکه امّت‌ها کمال انجیل را دریافت کنند، شاخه‌های طبیعی درخت زیتون (یعنی باقیماندگان خاندان اسرائیل) پیوند زده خواهند شد، یا یاد بگیرند مسیح حقیقی، یعنی خداوند خود و فدیه‌دهنده خود را پرستش کنند. ^۱۵پدرم نبوّت کرد و این را به برادرانم آموخت. او چیزهای بسیار دیگری گفت که در این کتاب نمی‌نویسم، چون درباره آن در کتاب دیگرم نوشته‌ام. ^۱۶همه این رخدادها در حالی روی داد که پدرم در خیمه‌ای در درّه لموئیل اقامت داشت.

¹⁷After I heard all my father’s words about what he saw in a vision, and what he understood by the power of the Holy Ghost which he received by faith in the Son of God about the coming Messiah, I also wanted to see, hear, and know about these things by the power of the Holy Ghost. That is God’s gift to those who diligently seek Him, both long ago as well as when He’ll show Himself to mankind. ¹⁸He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And the way has been prepared for all mankind from the foundation of creation if they repent and come to Him. ¹⁹Because those who diligently seek will find, and God’s mysteries will be unfolded to them by the power of the Holy Ghost. This is true yesterday, today, and tomorrow because the Lord’s pathway is one eternal round. ²⁰So remember, everyone: You will be judged for all your actions. ²¹As a result, if you’ve pursued and done evil during the days of your probation, then you’ll be found unclean before God’s judgment seat. And no unclean thing can live with God; therefore you’ll be rejected forever. ²²The Holy Ghost authorizes me to tell you these things and never deny them.

^۱۷پس از آنکه همه سخنان پدرم را شنیدم — درباره آنچه در رؤیایی دید، و آنچه درباره مسیح آینده به قدرت روح‌القدس که به ایمان به پسر خدا یافت، درک کرد — من نیز خواستم این چیزها را به قدرت روح‌القدس ببینم و بشنوم و بدانم. این هدیه خداست به آنان که با کوشش او را می‌جویند، چه در گذشته‌های دور و چه آنگاه که خود را به آدمیان نشان دهد. ^۱۸او همان است، دیروز، امروز و تا ابد. و راه برای همه آدمیان از بنیاد آفرینش آماده شده است، اگر توبه کنند و نزد او بیایند. ^۱۹زیرا آنان که با کوشش می‌جویند، خواهند یافت، و اسرار خدا به قدرت روح‌القدس بر آنان گشوده خواهد شد. این، دیروز، امروز و فردا حقیقت دارد، زیرا راه خداوند یک گردش ابدی است. ^۲۰پس به یاد داشته باشید، ای همه: برای همه اعمال خود داوری خواهید شد. ^۲۱در نتیجه، اگر در روزهای آزمایش خود، بدی را در پی گرفته و انجام داده باشید، آنگاه در برابر مسند داوری خدا ناپاک یافت خواهید شد. و هیچ چیز ناپاک نمی‌تواند با خدا زندگی کند؛ از این رو تا ابد طرد خواهید شد. ^۲۲روح‌القدس به من اختیار می‌دهد که این چیزها را به شما بگویم و هرگز آنها را انکار نکنم.

¹After I had asked to personally experience the things my father had seen, and believing the Lord could reveal them to me, as I sat pondering in my heart, I was carried away in the Spirit of the Lord to a very high mountain, one I had never seen or set foot on before. ²The Spirit asked me: What do you want? ³I replied: I want to see what my father saw. ⁴The Spirit asked me: Do you believe your father saw the tree he has talked about? ⁵I replied: Yes, you know that I believe all my father’s words. ⁶When I had said these words, the Spirit shouted: Hallelujah to the Lord, the Most High God! He is God over the whole earth, even above all! And you are blessed, Nephi, because you believe in the son of the Most High God; therefore you’ll see the things you’ve asked to see. ⁷And this will be given to you for a sign, that after you’ve seen the tree that bore the fruit your father tasted, you’ll also see a man descending from heaven and you’ll testify of Him. And after you’ve testified of Him, you’ll testify that He is the Son of God.

^۱پس از آنکه خواسته بودم چیزهایی را که پدرم دیده بود شخصاً تجربه کنم، و باور داشتم خداوند می‌تواند آنها را بر من آشکار سازد، آنگاه که نشسته در دل خود تأمّل می‌کردم، در روح خداوند به کوهی بسیار بلند برده شدم، کوهی که پیش از آن هرگز ندیده و پای بر آن ننهاده بودم. ^۲روح از من پرسید: چه می‌خواهی؟ ^۳پاسخ دادم: می‌خواهم آنچه را که پدرم دید ببینم. ^۴روح از من پرسید: آیا باور داری که پدرت درختی را دید که از آن سخن گفته است؟ ^۵پاسخ دادم: بلی، می‌دانی که همه سخنان پدرم را باور دارم. ^۶هنگامی که این سخنان را گفته بودم، روح فریاد برآورد: هَلِّلویاه بر خداوند، خدای متعال! او خدای تمام زمین است، بلکه فراتر از همه! و تو برکت یافته‌ای، ای نیفای، زیرا به پسر خدای متعال باور داری؛ از این رو چیزهایی را که خواسته‌ای ببینی، خواهی دید. ^۷و این همچون نشانه‌ای به تو داده خواهد شد، که پس از آنکه درختی را که میوه‌ای آورد که پدرت چشید، دیده باشی، مردی را نیز خواهی دید که از آسمان فرود می‌آید و درباره او شهادت خواهی داد. و پس از آنکه درباره او شهادت داده باشی، شهادت خواهی داد که او پسر خداست.

⁸Then the Spirit said: Look! And I looked and saw a tree, like the tree that my father had seen. Its beauty surpassed all beauty and its brightness exceeded the whiteness of the newly fallen snow. ⁹After I had seen the tree, I said to the Spirit: I see you’ve shown me the tree that’s more precious than anything else. ¹⁰Then He asked me: What do you want? ¹¹I replied: To know what it means. I spoke to Him as a man speaks, because I saw His form was as a man, yet I still knew it was the Spirit of the Lord, and He talked with me just like talking to another person.

^۸سپس روح گفت: نگاه کن! و نگاه کردم و درختی دیدم، همانند درختی که پدرم دیده بود. زیبایی آن از همه زیبایی‌ها فراتر می‌رفت و درخشش آن از سفیدی برف تازه‌باریده پیشی می‌گرفت. ^۹پس از آنکه آن درخت را دیدم، به روح گفتم: می‌بینم که درختی را به من نشان داده‌ای که از هر چیز دیگر گرانبهاتر است. ^۱۰سپس از من پرسید: چه می‌خواهی؟ ^۱۱پاسخ دادم: تا بدانم معنای آن چیست. با او چنان سخن گفتم که انسان سخن می‌گوید، چون دیدم پیکر او همچون پیکر انسان است؛ با این حال، می‌دانستم که این روح خداوند است، و او با من سخن می‌گفت، درست همان‌گونه که با شخص دیگری سخن می‌گویی.

¹²Then He told me: Look! And I looked in His direction but didn’t see Him, since He departed. ¹³Instead, I looked and I saw the great city of Jerusalem and other cities as well. And I saw the city of Nazareth. And in the city of Nazareth, I saw a virgin, and she was very beautiful and pure. ¹⁴Then I saw the heavens open, and an Angel came down and stood in front of me. He asked me: Nephi, what do you see? ¹⁵I replied: The most beautiful, pure virgin. ¹⁶He asked me: Do you understand God’s condescension? ¹⁷I replied: I know that He loves His children, but I don’t understand everything. ¹⁸Then He said to me: The virgin you see is the Mother of the Son of God when He becomes a mortal. ¹⁹I saw She was carried away in the spirit.

^۱۲سپس به من گفت: نگاه کن! و به سوی او نگاه کردم امّا او را ندیدم، چون رفته بود. ^۱۳در عوض، نگاه کردم و شهر بزرگ اورشلیم و شهرهای دیگر را نیز دیدم. و شهر ناصره را دیدم. و در شهر ناصره، باکره‌ای دیدم، و او بسیار زیبا و پاک بود. ^۱۴سپس دیدم که آسمان‌ها گشوده شدند، و فرشته‌ای فرود آمد و در برابر من ایستاد. از من پرسید: ای نیفای، چه می‌بینی؟ ^۱۵پاسخ دادم: زیباترین باکره، پاک. ^۱۶از من پرسید: آیا تنزّل خدا را درک می‌کنی؟ ^۱۷پاسخ دادم: می‌دانم که او فرزندان خود را محبّت می‌کند، امّا همه چیز را درک نمی‌کنم. ^۱۸سپس به من گفت: باکره‌ای که می‌بینی، مادر پسر خداست، هنگامی که فانی شود. ^۱۹دیدم که او در روح برده شد.

After She had been carried away in the spirit for some time, the Angel told me: Look! ²⁰Then I looked and saw the virgin again, now carrying a child in Her arms. ²¹The Angel told me: Behold the Lamb of God, even the Son of the Eternal Father. Do you know the meaning of the tree your father saw? ²²I replied: Yes, it’s God’s love, which inspires the souls of mankind; so it’s the most valuable of all things. ²³Then He told me: Yes, and the greatest joy for mankind’s soul.

پس از آنکه او مدّتی در روح برده شده بود، فرشته به من گفت: نگاه کن! ^۲۰سپس نگاه کردم و دوباره باکره را دیدم که اکنون کودکی در آغوش خود داشت. ^۲۱فرشته به من گفت: اینک، برّه خدا، همان پسر پدر ابدی. آیا معنای درختی را که پدرت دید می‌دانی؟ ^۲۲پاسخ دادم: بلی، آن محبّت خداست، که جان‌های آدمیان را الهام می‌بخشد؛ پس از همه چیز گرانبهاتر است. ^۲۳سپس به من گفت: بلی، و بزرگ‌ترین شادمانی برای جان آدمیان.

²⁴After He had said these words, He said: Look! And I looked and saw the Son of God mingling as a mortal with mankind. I saw many fall down at His feet and worship Him. ²⁵Then I realized the iron railing my father saw was God’s word. It led to the source of living waters or to the tree of life, whose waters represent God’s love. I also concluded the tree of life represented God’s love.

^۲۴پس از آنکه این سخنان را گفته بود، گفت: نگاه کن! و نگاه کردم و پسر خدا را دیدم که همچون فانی با آدمیان درمی‌آمیخت. دیدم بسیاری بر پاهای او افتادند و او را پرستش کردند. ^۲۵سپس دریافتم که نرده آهنی که پدرم دید، کلام خدا بود. آن به سرچشمه آب‌های زنده یا به درخت زندگی می‌انجامید، که آب‌هایش نماد محبّت خداست. همچنین نتیجه گرفتم که درخت زندگی نماد محبّت خدا بود.

²⁶Then the Angel told me again: Look and observe the condescension of God! ²⁷And I looked and saw the Redeemer of the world, whom my father mentioned, and the prophet who would prepare the way for Him. The Lamb of God went to him and was baptized by him. After baptism, I saw the heavens open and the Holy Ghost came down out of heaven and rested on Him in the form of a dove. ²⁸I saw that He went out ministering to the people in power and great glory, and large numbers of people gathered to hear Him. But I also saw Him thrown out of meetings. ²⁹I also saw twelve others following Him who were removed by the Spirit from my view.

^۲۶سپس فرشته دوباره به من گفت: نگاه کن و تنزّل خدا را مشاهده کن! ^۲۷و نگاه کردم و فدیه‌دهنده جهان را که پدرم ذکر کرد، و پیامبری را که می‌بایست راه را برای او آماده کند، دیدم. برّه خدا نزد او رفت و از او تعمید گرفت. پس از تعمید، دیدم که آسمان‌ها گشوده شدند و روح‌القدس از آسمان فرود آمد و به شکل کبوتری بر او قرار گرفت. ^۲۸دیدم که او با قدرت و جلال عظیم برای خدمت به مردم بیرون رفت، و عدد کبیری از مردم گرد آمدند تا او را بشنوند. امّا همچنین دیدم که او از مجالس بیرون انداخته شد. ^۲۹همچنین دوازده تن دیگر را دیدم که از او پیروی می‌کردند و توسط روح از دید من برداشته شدند.

³⁰Then the Angel told me: Look! And I looked and saw the heavens open again and angels descending to mankind, and they ministered to them.

^۳۰سپس فرشته به من گفت: نگاه کن! و نگاه کردم و دیدم که آسمان‌ها دوباره گشوده شدند و فرشتگانی به سوی آدمیان فرود می‌آمدند، و به آنان خدمت کردند.

³¹And He spoke to me again, saying: Look! And I looked and saw the Lamb of God going out among the people. I saw many people who were sick and afflicted with all kinds of diseases and with demons and unclean spirits — the Angel spoke and showed all these things to me — and the power of the Lamb of God healed them, and the demons and unclean spirits were thrown out.

^۳۱و او دوباره با من سخن گفت و گفت: نگاه کن! و نگاه کردم و برّه خدا را دیدم که در میان مردم بیرون می‌رفت. دیدم بسیاری از مردم را که بیمار بودند و به انواع بیماری‌ها و به دیوها و ارواح ناپاک گرفتار بودند — فرشته سخن گفت و همه این چیزها را به من نشان داد — و قدرت برّه خدا آنان را شفا داد، و دیوها و ارواح ناپاک بیرون انداخته شدند.

³²Then the Angel said again: Look! And I looked and saw the Lamb of God, the Son of the Everlasting God, was taken and judged by the world. I was a witness and testify: ³³I saw He was put up on the cross and killed for the world’s sins. ³⁴After He was killed, I saw that great numbers of people had gathered to fight against the Lamb’s witnesses (which is what the Angel of the Lord called the Twelve). ³⁵Crowds had assembled, and I saw they were in a large and spacious building, like the one my father saw. The Angel of the Lord said: Look at the world and its wisdom; notice the house of Israel has gathered to fight against the Lamb’s Twelve witnesses. ³⁶I saw and testify that the large and spacious building was the world’s pride, and its fall was terrible. Then the Angel of the Lord said to me: This is how the destruction will be of all people who fight the Lamb’s Twelve witnesses, from every nation, tribe, and language.

^۳۲سپس فرشته دوباره گفت: نگاه کن! و نگاه کردم و دیدم که برّه خدا، پسر خدای سرمدی، گرفته شد و توسط جهان داوری شد. من شاهد بودم و شهادت می‌دهم: ^۳۳دیدم که او بر صلیب بالا برده شد و برای گناهان جهان کشته شد. ^۳۴پس از آنکه او کشته شد، دیدم که شمار بزرگی از مردم گرد آمده بودند تا علیه شاهدان برّه بجنگند (که فرشتهٔ خداوند دوازده تن را چنین نامید). ^۳۵جمعیت‌ها گرد هم آمده بودند، و دیدم که آنان در ساختمانی بزرگ و وسیع بودند، همانند آنکه پدرم دید. فرشتهٔ خداوند گفت: به جهان و حکمت آن نگاه کن؛ توجه کن که خاندان اسرائیل گرد آمده‌اند تا علیه دوازده شاهد برّه بجنگند. ^۳۶دیدم و شهادت می‌دهم که ساختمان بزرگ و وسیع غرور جهان بود، و سقوط آن هولناک بود. سپس فرشتهٔ خداوند به من گفت: نابودی همهٔ مردمی که با دوازده شاهد برّه می‌جنگند، از هر ملت و قبیله و زبان، چنین خواهد بود.

¹Then the Angel told me: Look and see your descendants and your brothers’ descendants also. And I looked and saw the promised land and many people — seemingly as many as the sands of the sea. ²Then I saw many people gathered to fight against each other. I saw wars, reports of wars, and death by the sword among my people. ³I saw many generations killed in wars and conflicts on the land. And I saw many cities, too many to count. ⁴Then I saw a dark cloud upon the promised land. I also saw lightning and heard thunder, earthquakes, and many violent noises, the earth’s solid surface being broken up, mountains falling down in rubble, and the plains of the earth being broken up. I also saw many cities get sunk, many burned, and many collapse because of the earthquakes. ⁵After I saw these things, I saw the dark cloud lifted from the surface of the earth. I also saw the survivors who hadn’t died from the Lord’s great and terrible judgments. ⁶And I saw the heavens open and the Lamb of God descend from heaven. He came down and showed Himself to them.

^۱سپس فرشته به من گفت: نگاه کن و نسل تو و نسل برادرانت را نیز ببین. و نگاه کردم و سرزمین موعود و مردم بسیاری را دیدم — که گویا به شمار ریگ‌های دریا بودند. ^۲سپس دیدم که مردم بسیاری گرد آمدند تا با یکدیگر بجنگند. جنگ‌ها، اخبار جنگ‌ها و مرگ با شمشیر را در میان قوم خود دیدم. ^۳دیدم که نسل‌های بسیاری در جنگ‌ها و درگیری‌ها در آن سرزمین کشته شدند. و شهرهای بسیاری دیدم، بیش از آنکه به شمار آیند. ^۴سپس ابری تیره بر سرزمین موعود دیدم. همچنین آذرخش دیدم و رعد، زمین‌لرزه‌ها و صداهای مهیب بسیاری شنیدم، و دیدم که سطح سخت زمین از هم می‌شکافت، کوه‌ها در توده‌ای از آوار فرومی‌ریختند و دشت‌های زمین از هم می‌شکافتند. همچنین دیدم که شهرهای بسیاری در زمین فرورفتند، بسیاری سوختند و بسیاری به سبب زمین‌لرزه‌ها فروریختند. ^۵پس از آنکه این چیزها را دیدم، دیدم که ابر تیره از سطح زمین برداشته شد. همچنین بازماندگانی را دیدم که از داوری‌های بزرگ و هولناک خداوند نمرده بودند. ^۶و دیدم که آسمان‌ها گشوده شدند و برّه خدا از آسمان فرود آمد. او فرود آمد و خود را به آنان نشان داد.

⁷I also saw and testify the Holy Ghost fell on twelve others, and they were ordained by God and chosen. ⁸Then the Angel said to me: See the Lamb’s twelve witnesses who were chosen to minister to your descendants. ⁹And He told me: You remember the Lamb’s Twelve witnesses. They’re the ones who are to judge the twelve tribes of Israel; therefore the twelve ministers of your descendants will be judged by them because you belong to the house of Israel. ¹⁰The Twelve ministers you now see will judge your descendants. They are righteous forever and because of their faith in the Lamb of God, His blood cleanses their clothes.

^۷همچنین دیدم و شهادت می‌دهم که روح‌القدس بر دوازده تن دیگر نازل شد، و توسط خدا منصوب و برگزیده شدند. ^۸سپس فرشته به من گفت: ببین دوازده شاهد برّه را که برگزیده شدند تا به نسل تو خدمت کنند. ^۹و به من گفت: تو دوازده شاهد برّه را به یاد داری. آنان کسانی هستند که باید دوازده قبیلهٔ اسرائیل را داوری کنند؛ بنابراین دوازده خادم نسل تو توسط آنان داوری خواهند شد، زیرا تو به خاندان اسرائیل تعلّق داری. ^۱۰دوازده خادمی که اکنون می‌بینی، نسل تو را داوری خواهند کرد. آنان تا ابد پارسا هستند و به سبب ایمانشان به برّه خدا، خون او جامه‌هایشان را پاک می‌کند.

¹¹Then the Angel said: Look! And I looked and saw that three generations of people lived and died in righteousness; their clothes were clean, just like the Lamb of God. The Angel told me: These are made clean through the Lamb’s blood because of their faith in Him. ¹²I also saw many of the fourth generation who died in righteousness. ¹³And I saw great numbers of people gathered together. ¹⁴Then the Angel said to me: Now notice your descendants and your brothers’ descendants. ¹⁵I looked and saw great numbers of my descendants gathered against my brothers’ descendants — they prepared for war. ¹⁶Then the Angel said to me: See the filthy river your father saw and talked about; its depths are the depths of hell. ¹⁷And the dark mists are the temptations of the accuser, who blinds people’s eyes, hardens their hearts, and leads them away into wide roads, to perish and be lost. ¹⁸The large and spacious building your father saw represents false and foolish thinking and the pride of mankind. A great and terrible gulf divides them — which is the sword of the justice of the Eternal God and Messiah, who is the Lamb of God, whom the Holy Ghost testifies of, from the beginning of the world until now, and from this time forth and forever.

^۱۱سپس فرشته گفت: نگاه کن! و نگاه کردم و دیدم که سه نسل از مردم در پارسایی زیستند و مردند؛ جامه‌هایشان پاک بود، درست مانند برّه خدا. فرشته به من گفت: اینان به‌واسطهٔ خون برّه پاک شده‌اند، به سبب ایمانشان به او. ^۱۲همچنین بسیاری از نسل چهارم را دیدم که در پارسایی مردند. ^۱۳و دیدم که شمار بزرگی از مردم گرد آمده بودند. ^۱۴سپس فرشته به من گفت: اکنون به نسل تو و نسل برادرانت توجه کن. ^۱۵نگاه کردم و دیدم که شمار بزرگی از نسل من علیه نسل برادرانم گرد آمدند — آنان برای جنگ آماده شدند. ^۱۶سپس فرشته به من گفت: ببین رود کثیفی را که پدرت دید و درباره‌اش سخن گفت؛ ژرفایش ژرفای دوزخ است. ^۱۷و مه‌های تیره وسوسه‌های مدّعی‌اند، که چشمان مردم را کور می‌کند، دل‌هایشان را سخت می‌کند و آنان را به راه‌های فراخ می‌کشاند تا هلاک و گم شوند. ^۱۸ساختمان بزرگ و وسیعی که پدرت دید، نماد اندیشه‌های نادرست و نابخردانه و غرور آدمیان است. پرتگاهی بزرگ و هولناک آنان را از هم جدا می‌کند — که شمشیر عدالت خدای ابدی و مسیح است، همان که برّه خداست، که روح‌القدس از آغاز جهان تا کنون، و از این زمان به بعد و تا ابد، بر او شهادت می‌دهد.

¹⁹While the Angel said this, I saw my brothers’ descendants fought against my descendants, just like the Angel said. And because of my descendant’s pride and the accuser’s temptations, I saw my brothers’ descendants overpowered my descendants. ²⁰Then I watched and saw my brothers’ descendants defeated my descendants. And large numbers of them spread out over the land. ²¹I saw them gather in great numbers, and witnessed wars and reports of wars among them; and I saw many generations of people die fighting wars and hearing reports of wars. ²²Then the Angel told me: These will fall away in unbelief. ²³And I saw that after they fell away in unbelief, they became a corrupt, repulsive, and sinful people, following a meaningless religion and full of all kinds of abominations.

^۱۹هنگامی که فرشته این را می‌گفت، دیدم که نسل برادرانم علیه نسل من جنگیدند، درست همان‌گونه که فرشته گفت. و به سبب غرور نسل من و وسوسه‌های مدّعی، دیدم که نسل برادرانم بر نسل من چیره شدند. ^۲۰سپس نگریستم و دیدم که نسل برادرانم نسل من را شکست دادند. و عدد کبیری از آنان در سراسر آن سرزمین پخش شدند. ^۲۱دیدم که آنان در شمار بزرگی گرد آمدند، و در میان آنان شاهد جنگ‌ها و اخبار جنگ‌ها بودم؛ و دیدم که نسل‌های بسیاری از مردم در حال جنگیدن در جنگ‌ها و شنیدن اخبار جنگ‌ها مردند. ^۲۲سپس فرشته به من گفت: اینان در گمراهی فرو خواهند افتاد. ^۲۳و دیدم که پس از آنکه در گمراهی فرو افتادند، مردمی فاسد، نفرت‌انگیز و گناهکار شدند که از دینی بی‌معنا پیروی می‌کردند و پر از انواع رجاسات بودند.

¹Then the Angel told me: Look! And I looked and saw many nations and kingdoms. ²Then the Angel asked me: What do you see? I replied: I see many nations and kingdoms. ³Then He told me: These are Gentile nations and kingdoms. ⁴I saw among the Gentile nations a large and powerful church was built up. ⁵Then the Angel said to me: Notice the building up of a fully corrupt church, worse than all other churches, which kills God’s holy ones, and tortures them, ties them down, subjugates them, and enslaves them with an iron yoke. ⁶I saw this corrupt and utterly wicked church, and I saw that the accuser was the foundation of it. ⁷I also saw gold, silver, woven and scarlet clothing, fine knit linen, and all kinds of costly apparel, and I saw all kinds of corruption. ⁸Then the Angel said to me: The gold, silver, woven and scarlet clothing, fine knit linen, costly apparel, and corruption are the things this utterly wicked church considers valuable. ⁹And it’s to get praise of the world that they destroy the holy ones of God and enslave them.

^۱سپس فرشته به من گفت: نگاه کن! و نگاه کردم و ملت‌ها و پادشاهی‌های بسیاری را دیدم. ^۲سپس فرشته از من پرسید: چه می‌بینی؟ پاسخ دادم: ملت‌ها و پادشاهی‌های بسیاری می‌بینم. ^۳سپس به من گفت: اینها ملت‌ها و پادشاهی‌های امّت‌ها هستند. ^۴دیدم که در میان ملت‌های امّت‌ها کلیسایی بزرگ و نیرومند برپا شد. ^۵سپس فرشته به من گفت: به برپایی کلیسایی کاملاً فاسد توجه کن که از همهٔ کلیساهای دیگر بدتر است، که مقدّسان خدا را می‌کشد و آنان را شکنجه می‌کند، می‌بندد، به انقیاد درمی‌آورد و با یوغی آهنین به بردگی می‌کشد. ^۶این کلیسای فاسد و به‌کلّی شریر را دیدم، و دیدم که مدّعی بنیاد آن بود. ^۷همچنین طلا، نقره، جامه‌های بافته و قرمز، کتان نازکِ بافته و انواع لباس‌های گرانبها را دیدم، و انواع فساد را دیدم. ^۸سپس فرشته به من گفت: طلا، نقره، جامه‌های بافته و قرمز، کتان نازکِ بافته، لباس‌های گرانبها و فساد، چیزهایی هستند که این کلیسای به‌کلّی شریر آنها را ارزشمند می‌شمارد. ^۹و برای به دست آوردن ستایش جهان است که مقدّسان خدا را نابود می‌کنند و آنان را به بردگی می‌کشند.

¹⁰Then I looked and saw a great ocean, and it separated the Gentiles from my brothers’ descendants. ¹¹The Angel said to me: God’s anger is directed at your brothers’ descendants. ¹²And I looked and saw a man among the Gentiles, who was separated from my brothers’ descendants by the great ocean. I also saw that the Spirit of God came down and influenced the man. He went out upon the vast water, going all the way to my brothers’ descendants, who were in the promised land. ¹³Then I saw the Spirit of God inspired other Gentiles, who then fled captivity and crossed the vast ocean. ¹⁴Following that I saw large numbers of Gentiles on the promised land. I also saw that God’s anger was upon my brothers’ descendants, and they scattered before the Gentiles and were slaughtered. ¹⁵And I saw that the Spirit of the Lord was upon the Gentiles, and they prospered and obtained the land as their inheritance. I saw they were devout, faithful, and beautiful, like my people before they were killed. ¹⁶Then I saw the Gentiles who fled from captivity humbled themselves before the Lord, and His power was with them. ¹⁷I saw that their foreign government that controlled them gathered on both sea and land to fight them. ¹⁸But I saw God’s power was with them, and His wrath was upon those who came to fight them. ¹⁹I saw the Gentiles who had left captivity were protected by God’s power from all other nations. ²⁰Then I saw they prospered in the land.

^۱۰سپس نگاه کردم و اقیانوسی بزرگ دیدم، و آن، امّت‌ها را از نسل برادرانم جدا می‌کرد. ^۱۱فرشته به من گفت: خشم خدا متوجه نسل برادران توست. ^۱۲و نگاه کردم و مردی را در میان امّت‌ها دیدم، که اقیانوس بزرگ او را از نسل برادرانم جدا کرده بود. همچنین دیدم که روح خدا فرود آمد و بر آن مرد تأثیر گذاشت. او بر آب‌های پهناور بیرون رفت و تا نزد نسل برادرانم، که در سرزمین موعود بودند، رسید. ^۱۳سپس دیدم که روح خدا به امّت‌های دیگری الهام بخشید، که آنگاه از اسارت گریختند و از اقیانوس پهناور گذشتند. ^۱۴پس از آن، عدد کبیری از امّت‌ها را در سرزمین موعود دیدم. همچنین دیدم که خشم خدا بر نسل برادرانم بود، و آنان در برابر امّت‌ها پراکنده شدند و قتل‌عام شدند. ^۱۵و دیدم که روح خداوند بر امّت‌ها بود، و کامیاب شدند و آن سرزمین را به میراث به دست آوردند. دیدم که آنان پرهیزگار، وفادار و زیبا بودند، همچون قوم من، پیش از آنکه کشته شوند. ^۱۶سپس دیدم که امّت‌هایی که از اسارت گریخته بودند، در برابر خداوند فروتنی کردند، و قدرت او با آنان بود. ^۱۷دیدم که حکومت بیگانه‌ای که بر آنان تسلّط داشت، هم در دریا و هم در خشکی گرد آمد تا با آنان بجنگد. ^۱۸امّا دیدم که قدرت خدا با آنان بود، و غضب او بر کسانی بود که برای جنگیدن با آنان آمدند. ^۱۹دیدم که امّت‌هایی که اسارت را ترک کرده بودند، توسط قدرت خدا از همهٔ ملت‌های دیگر محفوظ ماندند. ^۲۰سپس دیدم که آنان در آن سرزمین کامیاب شدند.

I also saw they had a book. ²¹The Angel asked me: Do you know the book’s purpose? ²²I replied: I don’t know. ²³So He said: It comes from the Jews. And I saw it. And He told me: The book you see is a record of the Jews; it contains the covenants the Lord has made to the house of Israel. It also contains many of the prophecies of the holy prophets. It’s a record like the engravings on the brass plates, except it’s less complete. Still, it contains the covenants the Lord has made to the house of Israel; therefore they’re very valuable to the Gentiles. ²⁴Then the Angel of the Lord said: You’ve seen that the book came from the Jews. When it came from the Jews, it contained the fullness of the gospel of the Lamb, whom the Twelve witnesses testified about. And they testified truthfully of the Lamb of God. ²⁵So these things were delivered in purity from the Jews to the Gentiles, relating the truth of God. ²⁶After they’re delivered by the Lamb’s Twelve witnesses, from the Jews to the Gentiles, you see the establishment of that corrupt and utterly wicked church, which is the most detestable of all other churches. For they removed from the Lamb’s gospel many clear and extremely valuable parts and they’ve also removed many of the Lord’s covenants. ²⁷They’ve done all this in order to corrupt and pervert the right ways of the Lord, to blind people’s eyes and harden their hearts. ²⁸Therefore you see that after the book has passed through the hands of that corrupt and utterly wicked church, many clear and extremely valuable things are gone from the book, which is the book of the Lamb of God. ²⁹And after these clear and valuable things are gone, it was passed along to all the Gentile nations.

همچنین دیدم که آنان کتابی داشتند. ^۲۱فرشته از من پرسید: آیا مقصود این کتاب را می‌دانی؟ ^۲۲پاسخ دادم: نمی‌دانم. ^۲۳پس گفت: از یهودیان می‌آید. و آن را دیدم. و به من گفت: کتابی که می‌بینی، نگاشته‌ای از یهودیان است که شامل عهدهایی است که خداوند با خاندان اسرائیل بسته است. همچنین شامل بسیاری از نبوّت‌های پیامبران مقدس است. نگاشته‌ای است همانند نقش‌های روی صفحات برنجین، جز آنکه کمتر کامل است. با این حال، شامل عهدهایی است که خداوند با خاندان اسرائیل بسته است؛ بنابراین برای امّت‌ها بسیار ارزشمندند. ^۲۴سپس فرشتهٔ خداوند گفت: دیده‌ای که این کتاب از یهودیان آمد. هنگامی که از یهودیان آمد، شامل کمال انجیل برّه بود، که دوازده شاهد بر او شهادت دادند. و آنان به‌راستی بر برّه خدا شهادت دادند. ^۲۵پس این چیزها در پاکی از یهودیان به امّت‌ها رسانده شد، که حقیقت خدا را بازگو می‌کرد. ^۲۶پس از آنکه توسط دوازده شاهد برّه، از یهودیان به امّت‌ها رسانده شدند، تأسیس آن کلیسای فاسد و به‌کلّی شریر را می‌بینی، که منفورترین کلیسا در میان همهٔ کلیساهای دیگر است. زیرا آنان از انجیل برّه بخش‌های روشن و بی‌نهایت ارزشمند بسیاری را برداشتند و همچنین بسیاری از عهدهای خداوند را برداشتند. ^۲۷آنان همهٔ این کارها را کردند تا راه‌های راست خداوند را فاسد کنند و منحرف نمایند، تا چشمان مردم را کور کنند و دل‌هایشان را سخت کنند. ^۲۸بنابراین می‌بینی که پس از آنکه این کتاب از دست آن کلیسای فاسد و به‌کلّی شریر گذشت، چیزهای روشن و بی‌نهایت ارزشمند بسیاری از کتاب از میان رفته‌اند، که کتاب برّه خداست. ^۲۹و پس از آنکه این چیزهای روشن و ارزشمند از میان رفتند، به همهٔ ملت‌های امّت‌ها منتقل شد.

And after all Gentile nations receive the book, a great number of people make a great number of mistakes that gives Satan power over them. That altered book is what the Gentiles who crossed the sea to escape captivity bring with them. It lacks many clear, understandable things about the Lamb of God. ³⁰Nevertheless, you see the Gentiles have left captivity and have been liberated by God’s power to independently control the land. The land is better than all other places on earth. The Lord God covenanted with your father to inherit it, and your descendants will mix with your brothers’ descendants and survive. ³¹God won’t let the Gentiles destroy all your brothers’ descendants, ³²or leave the Gentiles in the awful blind condition you see that resulted from that utterly wicked church removing the clear and extremely valuable parts of the Lamb’s gospel. ³³Therefore, the Lamb of God says, I’ll have mercy for the Gentiles and will judge and punish the remnant of the house of Israel.

و پس از آنکه همهٔ ملت‌های امّت‌ها کتاب را دریافت می‌کنند، شمار بزرگی از مردم مرتکب شمار بزرگی از اشتباهات می‌شوند که به شیطان بر آنان قدرت می‌دهد. آن کتاب دگرگون‌شده همان است که امّت‌هایی که برای فرار از اسارت از دریا گذشتند، با خود می‌آورند. فاقد چیزهای روشن و قابل‌فهم بسیاری دربارهٔ برّه خداست. ^۳۰با این حال، می‌بینی که امّت‌ها اسارت را ترک کرده‌اند و توسط قدرت خدا آزاد شده‌اند تا به‌طور مستقل بر آن سرزمین تسلّط داشته باشند. آن سرزمین از همهٔ جاهای دیگر روی زمین بهتر است. خداوند خدا با پدرت عهد بست که آن را به میراث ببرد، و نسل تو با نسل برادرانت درخواهند آمیخت و زنده خواهند ماند. ^۳۱خدا نه خواهد گذاشت که امّت‌ها همهٔ نسل برادرانت را نابود کنند، ^۳۲و نه امّت‌ها را در آن وضعیت مخوفِ کوری که می‌بینی رها خواهد کرد، که از برداشتن بخش‌های روشن و بی‌نهایت ارزشمند انجیل برّه توسط آن کلیسای به‌کلّی شریر ناشی شد. ^۳۳از این رو، برّه خدا می‌گوید، بر امّت‌ها رحمت خواهم کرد، و باقیماندگان خاندان اسرائیل را داوری و مجازات خواهم کرد.

³⁴Then the Angel of the Lord told me: The Lamb of God says: After I’ve judged the remnant of the house of Israel (referring to your father’s descendants), after punishing them using the Gentiles, I’ll show mercy to the Gentiles. They’ll make a great many mistakes because of the extremely clear and valuable parts of the Lamb’s gospel that have been removed by that utterly wicked church, which is the mother of harlots. But by My power I’ll bring to light for them more of My gospel, which will be clear and very valuable, says the Lamb. ³⁵Indeed, says the Lamb, I’ll personally appear to your descendants so they are able to write many things that I’ll provide to them, which will be plain and very valuable. After your descendants are destroyed and fall away in unbelief, along with your brothers’ descendants, these writings will be hidden and protected, to later be delivered to the Gentiles by the gift and power of the Lamb. ³⁶My gospel will be written in them, says the Lamb — My rock and My salvation. ³⁷I’ll bless those who then want to bring about My Zion; they’ll have the gift and power of the Holy Ghost. And if they continue faithful to the end, they’ll be raised up on the last day and saved in the everlasting kingdom of the Lamb. Therefore, any who proclaim peace, the joyful news, how beautiful shall be their presence upon the mountains!

^۳۴سپس فرشتهٔ خداوند به من گفت: برّه خدا می‌گوید: پس از آنکه باقیماندگان خاندان اسرائیل را (یعنی نسل پدرت را) داوری کرده باشم، پس از آنکه آنان را به‌دست امّت‌ها مجازات کرده باشم، به امّت‌ها رحمت نشان خواهم داد. آنان اشتباهات بسیاری مرتکب خواهند شد، به سبب بخش‌های بی‌نهایت روشن و ارزشمند انجیل برّه که توسط آن کلیسای به‌کلّی شریر برداشته شده‌اند، که مادر روسپیان است. امّا با قدرت خود، بخش بیشتری از انجیل خود را برای آنان به روشنایی خواهم آورد، که روشن و بسیار ارزشمند خواهد بود، برّه می‌گوید. ^۳۵آری، برّه می‌گوید: من شخصاً بر نسل تو ظاهر خواهم شد تا بتوانند چیزهای بسیاری بنویسند که برای آنان فراهم خواهم کرد، که روشن و بسیار ارزشمند خواهد بود. پس از آنکه نسل تو، همراه با نسل برادرانت، نابود شوند و در گمراهی فرو افتند، این نوشته‌ها پنهان و محفوظ خواهند ماند، تا بعدها به‌واسطهٔ هدیه و قدرت برّه به امّت‌ها رسانده شوند. ^۳۶انجیل من در آنها نوشته خواهد شد، برّه می‌گوید — صخرهٔ من و نجات من. ^۳۷کسانی را که آنگاه بخواهند صهیون مرا پدید آورند، برکت خواهم داد؛ آنان هدیه و قدرت روح‌القدس را خواهند داشت. و اگر تا به آخر وفادار بمانند، در روز آخر برخیزانده خواهند شد و در پادشاهی سرمدی برّه نجات خواهند یافت. بنابراین، کسانی که صلح را اعلام کنند، آن مژدهٔ شادی‌بخش را — چه زیبا خواهد بود حضورشان بر فراز کوه‌ها!

³⁸Then I saw my brothers’ descendants and the book of the Lamb of God, which had come from the Jews, and that it came from the Gentiles to my brothers’ descendants. ³⁹After it had come to them, I saw other books that came by the Lamb’s power from the Gentiles to them — these convinced the Gentiles and my brothers’ descendants, and also the Jews who were scattered throughout the earth, that the records of the prophets and the Lamb’s Twelve witnesses are true. ⁴⁰Then the Angel told me: The last records that you’ve seen among the Gentiles will confirm the truth of the first ones — which come from the Lamb’s Twelve witnesses — and will reveal the clear and valuable things which have been removed from them and reveal to all people of every tribe and language that the Lamb of God is the Son of the Eternal Father and Savior of the world and that all people must come to Him or they cannot be saved. ⁴¹And according to the words of the Lamb they must come to Him. And the Lamb’s words will be revealed in the records of your descendants as well as in the records of the Lamb’s Twelve witnesses. So they’ll both be witnesses together, because there’s one God and one Shepherd over the whole earth. ⁴²At a future time, He’ll reveal Himself to all nations, both to the Jews and to the Gentiles. And after He has revealed Himself to the Jews and to the Gentiles, He’ll then appear to the Gentiles and to the Jews. The last will be first and the first will be last.

^۳۸سپس نسل برادرانم و کتاب برّه خدا را دیدم، که از یهودیان آمده بود، و اینکه از امّت‌ها به نسل برادرانم آمد. ^۳۹پس از آنکه به آنان آمد، دیدم که کتاب‌های دیگری به قدرت برّه از امّت‌ها به آنان آمد — اینها امّت‌ها و نسل برادرانم، و نیز یهودیانی را که در سراسر زمین پراکنده شده بودند، متقاعد ساختند که نگاشته‌های پیامبران و دوازده شاهد برّه حقیقت دارند. ^۴۰سپس فرشته به من گفت: نگاشته‌های آخر که در میان امّت‌ها دیده‌ای، حقیقت نگاشته‌های نخستین را تأیید خواهند کرد — که از دوازده شاهد برّه می‌آیند — و چیزهای روشن و ارزشمندی را که از آنها برداشته شده، آشکار خواهند ساخت، و بر همهٔ مردم از هر قبیله و زبان آشکار خواهند ساخت که برّه خدا پسر پدر ابدی و نجات‌دهنده جهان است، و اینکه همهٔ مردم باید نزد او بیایند وگرنه نمی‌توانند نجات یابند. ^۴۱و بنا بر سخنان برّه، آنان باید نزد او بیایند. و سخنان برّه در نگاشته‌های نسل تو و نیز در نگاشته‌های دوازده شاهد برّه آشکار خواهند شد. پس هر دو با هم شاهد خواهند بود، زیرا یک خدا و یک شبان بر سراسر زمین هست. ^۴۲در زمانی آینده، او خود را بر همهٔ ملت‌ها آشکار خواهد ساخت، هم بر یهودیان و هم بر امّت‌ها. و پس از آنکه خود را بر یهودیان و بر امّت‌ها آشکار ساخته باشد، آنگاه بر امّت‌ها و بر یهودیان ظاهر خواهد شد. آخرین‌ها نخستین خواهند شد و نخستین‌ها آخرین.

¹If the Gentiles then obey the Lamb of God, He’ll reveal Himself to them in word and power and in person, in order to remove barriers to their belief, ²and if they don’t harden their hearts against the Lamb of God, they’ll be included with your father’s descendants — indeed, they’ll be included as part of the house of Israel. And they’ll become a blessed family in the promised land forever. They won’t be enslaved anymore, and the house of Israel won’t be embarrassed anymore. ³And the great pit dug for them by that utterly wicked church, which the accuser and his followers founded so that he could take people’s souls down to hell — that great pit dug for people’s destruction will be filled with those who dug it, to their complete destruction, says the Lamb of God — not the destruction of the soul, but throwing it into that endless hell. ⁴This is according to the accuser’s imprisonment, and according to God’s justice as well, upon all those who insist on doing wicked and corrupt things in God’s sight.

^۱اگر امّت‌ها آنگاه از برّه خدا اطاعت کنند، او خود را بر آنان در کلام و قدرت، و شخصاً آشکار خواهد ساخت، تا موانع باور آنان را بردارد، ^۲و اگر دل‌های خود را در برابر برّه خدا سخت نکنند، در شمار نسل پدرت درخواهند آمد — آری، جزو خاندان اسرائیل به‌شمار خواهند آمد. و در سرزمین موعود، تا ابد خانواده‌ای برکت‌یافته خواهند شد. دیگر به بردگی کشیده نخواهند شد، و خاندان اسرائیل دیگر شرمنده نخواهد شد. ^۳و آن گودال بزرگی که آن کلیسای به‌کلّی شریر برای آنان کنده بود، که مدّعی و پیروانش آن را بنیاد نهادند تا او بتواند جان‌های مردم را به دوزخ فرو بَرَد — آن گودال بزرگ که برای نابودی مردم کنده شده، از کسانی که آن را کنده‌اند پر خواهد شد، تا نابودی کامل آنان، برّه خدا می‌گوید — نه نابودی جان، بلکه انداختنِ آن به آن دوزخ بی‌پایان. ^۴این بنا بر حبس مدّعی است، و نیز بنا بر عدالت خدا، بر همهٔ کسانی که اصرار دارند در نظر خدا کارهای شریرانه و فاسد انجام دهند.

⁵Then the Angel told me: You’ve seen that if the Gentiles repent, it will turn out well for them. You also know about the Lord’s covenants with the house of Israel. And you’ve also heard that whoever doesn’t repent must perish. ⁶As a result, if the Gentiles harden their hearts against the Lamb of God, I will afflict them. ⁷Because the time will come, says the Lamb of God, when I’ll bring about a great and awe-inspiring work among mankind, one that will be everlasting — one way or the other — either to convince them, resulting in peace and life eternal; or to give them up to their hard hearts and blind minds, bringing about their slavery and temporal and spiritual destruction, under the accuser’s enslavement which I’ve spoken about.

^۵سپس فرشته به من گفت: دیده‌ای که اگر امّت‌ها توبه کنند، برایشان نیک خواهد بود. و نیز از عهدهای خداوند با خاندان اسرائیل آگاه هستی. و نیز شنیده‌ای که هر که توبه نکند، باید هلاک شود. ^۶در نتیجه، اگر امّت‌ها دل‌های خود را در برابر برّه خدا سخت کنند، آنان را گرفتار خواهم ساخت. ^۷زیرا زمانی فرا خواهد رسید، برّه خدا می‌گوید، که در آن کاری بزرگ و شگرف در میان آدمیان پدید خواهم آورد، که سرمدی خواهد بود — به یک طریق یا طریق دیگر — یا برای آنکه آنان را متقاعد سازم، که به صلح و حیات ابدی منجر شود؛ یا برای آنکه آنان را به دل‌های سخت و ذهن‌های کورشان تسلیم کنم، و بردگی و نابودی دنیوی و روحانیِ آنان را پدید آورم، تحت بردگیِ مدّعی که از آن سخن گفته‌ام.

⁸When the Angel had said this, He asked me: Do you remember the Father’s covenants to the house of Israel? I replied: Yes. ⁹Then He told me: Look and observe that utterly wicked church, which is the mother of abominations, whose foundation is the accuser. ¹⁰Then He told me: There are only two churches: one is the congregation of the Lamb of God and the other is the church of the accuser. Therefore anyone who doesn’t belong to the congregation of the Lamb of God belongs to the other wealthy and corrupt church that is the mother of abominations, and she is the whore of the whole earth.

^۸چون فرشته این را گفت، از من پرسید: آیا عهدهای پدر را به خاندان اسرائیل به یاد داری؟ پاسخ دادم: آری. ^۹سپس به من گفت: نگاه کن و آن کلیسای به‌کلّی شریر را مشاهده کن، که مادر رجاسات است، که بنیادش مدّعی است. ^۱۰سپس به من گفت: تنها دو کلیسا وجود دارد: یکی جماعت برّه خداست و دیگری کلیسای مدّعی. بنابراین هر که به جماعت برّه خدا تعلق نداشته باشد، به آن کلیسای دیگرِ ثروتمند و فاسد تعلق دارد که مادر رجاسات است، و او فاحشهٔ سراسر زمین است.

¹¹Then I looked and saw the whore of the whole earth. She was spread everywhere across the seas, ruling over the whole earth, among all people of every nation, tribe, and language. ¹²And I saw the congregation of the Lamb of God; its numbers were few because of the wickedness and abominations of the whore who was spread everywhere across the seas. Nevertheless, I saw that the congregation of the Lamb, who were God’s holy ones, were also there throughout the earth; but their presence was small because of the wickedness of the great whore whom I saw. ¹³And I saw the great mother of abominations assembled in large numbers all over the earth among all Gentile nations to fight against the Lamb of God. ¹⁴Then I saw the power of the Lamb of God descend upon the holy ones of the Lamb’s congregation and upon the Lord’s covenant people, who were scattered across the earth. They were armed with righteousness and God’s power in great glory.

^۱۱سپس نگاه کردم و فاحشهٔ سراسر زمین را دیدم. او همه‌جا در سراسر دریاها پخش شده بود، بر سراسر زمین فرمانروایی می‌کرد، در میان همهٔ مردم از هر ملت و قبیله و زبان. ^۱۲و جماعت برّه خدا را دیدم؛ شمارش اندک بود به سبب شرارت و رجاسات فاحشه‌ای که همه‌جا در سراسر دریاها پخش شده بود. با این حال، دیدم که جماعت برّه، که مقدّسان خدا بودند، نیز در سراسر زمین حضور داشتند؛ اما حضورشان اندک بود به سبب شرارت آن فاحشهٔ بزرگ که دیدم. ^۱۳و آن مادرِ عظیمِ رجاسات را دیدم که در سراسر زمین، در میان همهٔ ملت‌های امّت‌ها، در شمار بزرگی گرد هم آمده بود تا علیه برّه خدا بجنگد. ^۱۴سپس دیدم که قدرت برّه خدا بر مقدّسان جماعت برّه و بر قوم عهد خداوند، که در سراسر زمین پراکنده شده بودند، نازل شد. آنان به پارسایی و قدرت خدا، در جلال عظیم، مسلح بودند.

¹⁵And I saw that God’s wrath was poured out upon that wealthy and utterly wicked church, so that wars and reports of wars arose among the nations and tribes of the earth. ¹⁶As these wars and reports of wars arose among the nations that followed the mother of abominations, the Angel told me: God’s wrath is upon the mother of harlots. You’re a witness to all these things. ¹⁷When the time comes that God’s anger is poured out upon the mother of harlots — the wealthy and utterly wicked church of the whole earth, whose foundation is the accuser — then as that happens it will be part of the Father’s work to vindicate the covenants He has made with His people who belong to the house of Israel.

^۱۵و دیدم که غضب خدا بر آن کلیسای ثروتمند و به‌کلّی شریر ریخته شد، چنانکه جنگ‌ها و اخبار جنگ‌ها در میان ملت‌ها و قبیله‌های زمین برخاست. ^۱۶چون این جنگ‌ها و اخبار جنگ‌ها در میان ملت‌هایی که از مادر رجاسات پیروی می‌کردند برخاست، فرشته به من گفت: غضب خدا بر مادر روسپیان است. تو شاهدِ همهٔ این چیزها هستی. ^۱۷چون زمانی فرا رسد که خشم خدا بر مادر روسپیان ریخته شود — کلیسای ثروتمند و به‌کلّی شریرِ سراسر زمین، که بنیادش مدّعی است — آنگاه چون چنین می‌شود، بخشی از کار پدر خواهد بود تا عهدهایی را که با قوم خود، که به خاندان اسرائیل تعلق دارند، بسته است، برقرار سازد.

¹⁸Then the Angel told me: Look! ¹⁹And I looked and saw a man, and he was dressed in a white robe. ²⁰The Angel said to me: This is one of the Lamb’s Twelve witnesses. ²¹He’s been appointed to see and write about the remainder of these things, and also about many other things that have happened. ²²He’ll also write about the end of the world. ²³Therefore the things he will write are proper and true, and they’re written in the book you saw coming from the Jews. When they came from the Jews, or when the book came from the Jews, what was written was clear and pure and extremely valuable and easy for all to understand. ²⁴The things this witness of the Lamb is to write are many of the things that you’ve seen, and you’ll see the rest. ²⁵However, you must not write the things you’ll see after this, since the Lord God has ordered the witness of the Lamb of God to write them. ²⁶He has shown all things to others who have lived, and they’ve written them as well. They’re sealed up to come forward in their correct form to the house of Israel, when the Lord deems it to be the proper time, according to the truth that’s in the Lamb.

^۱۸سپس فرشته به من گفت: نگاه کن! ^۱۹و نگاه کردم و مردی را دیدم، و او ردای سفیدی بر تن داشت. ^۲۰فرشته به من گفت: این یکی از دوازده شاهد برّه است. ^۲۱او تعیین شده است تا بقیهٔ این چیزها و نیز چیزهای بسیار دیگری را که رخ داده است، ببیند و دربارهٔ آنها بنویسد. ^۲۲او همچنین دربارهٔ پایان جهان خواهد نوشت. ^۲۳بنابراین چیزهایی که خواهد نوشت شایسته و حقیقی است، و در کتابی که دیدی از یهودیان آمد، نوشته شده‌اند. چون از یهودیان آمد، یا چون کتاب از یهودیان آمد، آنچه نوشته شده بود، روشن و پاک و بی‌نهایت ارزشمند و برای همگان قابل‌فهم بود. ^۲۴چیزهایی که این شاهد برّه می‌بایست بنویسد، بسیاری از چیزهایی است که دیده‌ای، و بقیه را خواهی دید. ^۲۵امّا تو نباید چیزهایی را که پس از این خواهی دید بنویسی، زیرا خداوند خدا به شاهد برّه خدا فرمان داده است تا آنها را بنویسد. ^۲۶او همهٔ چیزها را به دیگرانی که زیسته‌اند نشان داده است، و آنان نیز آنها را نوشته‌اند. آنها مهر و موم شده‌اند تا در شکل درست خود به خاندان اسرائیل پیش آیند، آنگاه که خداوند آن را زمان مناسب بداند، بنا بر حقیقتی که در برّه است.

²⁷I heard and testify that according to the Angel’s word, the name of the Lamb’s witness was John. ²⁸I’m forbidden to write the rest of the things I saw and heard. So, I’m satisfied with what I’ve written, and I’ve only written a small part of what I saw. ²⁹I testify that I saw the things my father saw, and the Angel of the Lord revealed them to me. ³⁰Now I finish writing about what I saw while I was in contact with the Spirit. And even though everything I saw isn’t written, the things I have written are true. So be it, Amen.

^۲۷شنیدم و شهادت می‌دهم که بنا بر سخن فرشته، نام شاهد برّه یوحنّا بود. ^۲۸مرا از نوشتن بقیهٔ چیزهایی که دیدم و شنیدم منع کرده‌اند. پس، به آنچه نوشته‌ام راضی هستم، و تنها بخش کوچکی از آنچه دیدم نوشته‌ام. ^۲۹شهادت می‌دهم که چیزهایی را که پدرم دید، دیدم، و فرشتهٔ خداوند آنها را بر من آشکار ساخت. ^۳۰اکنون نوشتن آنچه را که در حین ارتباط با روح دیدم، به پایان می‌رسانم. و هرچند همهٔ آنچه دیدم نوشته نشده است، چیزهایی که نوشته‌ام، حقیقت دارند. چنین باد، آمین.
